Here's the Scoop on the Staff

Dan Bark is one of our newest staff members. He is teaching the Computer Technology program here at IVVC. Dan and his wife, Karen, live in Sandwich and have two sons, Evan and Tyler. Dan is very familiar with the school, he was a student in IVVC's Drafting & Design program in 1987. In his spare time, Dan enjoys motorcycling, aviation, model railroading, cars and hot rods. Welcome to the staff Dan!

GayLynn Ash is another new staff member. She is co-teaching in the Early Childhood Development program with Debby Hill. GayLynn and her husband, Wayne, live in Sandwich and have two grown children, Joel and Sarah. She is also thankful that she has her parents and mother-in-law nearby. In her spare time, GayLynn loves to read, exercise, cook and visiting her kids at their houses! We are glad GayLynn has joined the IVVC family.

Ron Pieper is IVVC's Director. He lives in Oswego with his wife, daughters and dog, Dazy. Mr. Pieper started out at IVVC as an Auto Mechanics instructor in 1976. He enjoys music, cars and working outside. Mr. Pieper said, "I love my job and the students and staff at IVVC!"

Ginny Colgan has been teaching the Business Systems Technology program since 2004. Ginny said she "loves working here with the best students in our area!" She lives in Sandwich with her husband, Phil. They have two daughters, Erin & Kelly and one son-in-law, Josh. Ginny enjoys scrapbooking, spending time at their cabin in Wisconsin and anything "Mickey Mouse."

Valleri Wathen is IVVC's Resource instructor. She has been helping hundreds of students since starting here in 2004. She lives in Somonauk with her husband, Gary, and three sons. In her spare time, Val likes to shop, travel and watch her sons in their sporting events. If you ever need help with homework, tests, etc., Val is the one to see!

Vince Logan has been IVVC's Law Enforcement instructor since 2005. He lives in Joliet with his wife, Amy, and two children, Sadie and Scott. He has a martial arts black belt in Judo, is a part-time officer for the Somonauk Police Department and designs websites. Vince also publishes an annual senior citizen resource magazine. In his spare time, he enjoys Harley Davidsons, Madden 2008 and traveling.

Debby Hill is one of our Early Childhood Development instructors. She has been teaching the high school students and the preschoolers who attend the Carole V. Nolin Preschool since 2002. She and her husband, Rick, live in Sandwich. They have two children, Jenny & Matthew, and one son-in-law, Matt. Whenever she gets the chance, Debby enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and traveling.

Julie Dzurisin
is IVVC's Health Occupations II instructor.  Health Occupations II is a senior-only program, preparing students for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Ms. Dzurisin lives in Ottawa with her husband Tim. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, Nascar and traveling. She started teaching here in 2004 and says that "IVVC is a great place to be! What a privilege to teach here."

David Hoskins teaches Drafting & Design here at IVVC. David and his wife, Natalie, live in Sandwich with their two children, Annalisa and Jonathan. David has been teaching the Drafting & Design class since 2000. In his free time, he enjoys sports and video games.


IVVC's Health Occupations I instructor is Trisha Gabehart. She has been teaching at IVVC since 2006. She and her fiance, Don, are busy planning their wedding this summer. Trisha has one daughter, Dusty, and two dogs, Spencer and Duke.  They live in Marseilles.  Trisha enjoys playing softball and camping in her free time.

Bridget Avery is our Sports Medicine/Management instructor. Bridget has been teaching at IVVC since 2006. She and her husband, Derek, live in Sandwich with their two children - Brianna & Rex. Bridget enjoys reading, boating, running, watching the Cubs & Bears, working in her garden and playing with the kids.

Nick Little
is one of our Auto Mechanics instructors. He has been teaching at IVVC since 2005. Nick lives in Leland and enjoys spending time with his family and friends, mountain biking and golf.

Ken Kubisak is our Building Trades Remodeling instructor. He started at IVVC in 2000. Ken and his wife, Patti, live in Sandwich. They have seven children and are grandparents. Ken enjoys yard work, camping, Chicago Bears football games and traveling. They like going to their property in Colorado and plan to retire to New Mexico someday.

Lynn Rott has been IVVC's Bookkeeper since 2002. She and her husband, Steve, live in rural Sheridan with their three children - Nick, Christine and Ally. Lynn enjoys flower and vegetable gardening, bicycling, playing the guitar and reading. She is member of the Somonauk Junior Woman's Club and is a 4-H volunteer.

Jackie Dannewitz is IVVC's Graphics Communications instructor. She has been teaching here for the past seven years. Jackie and her husband, Larry, live in Sandwich and have two children, Lauren and Drew, and one son-in-law, Dan Hoyt. In her spare time, she does various logo and design projects and some monthly newsletters. Jackie says "It is a pleasure to share my enthusiasm for art and design with these talented and creative IVVC students!"
