Drafting Students Design a New High School

The Drafting & Design students worked on designing a new high school for the past few months. The students put a lot of their ideas into the design, such as what classes are needed and how many classrooms for each subject area. They also had to take into account how a school runs from the administration’s point of view.  The students worked in teams from design to finished construction documents. After the initial design, the teams started presenting their progress. All their design work was put on AutoCAD, which is a program used by many companies in today’s world of architecture. The students learned how to work as team and also how to compromise with each other on different ideas and designs.  The overall project was fun and exciting for everyone.
